Hong Kong Phooey, number one super guy. Hong Kong Phooey, quicker than the human eye.
Hong Kong Phooey was one of what seems like an endless line of awesome Hanna-Barbera cartoons that came out in the 1970’s.
Hong Kong Phooey’s secret identity was a janitor for a local police station. He changes into his crime fighting gear (and gets stuck) in a police filing cabinet, but always gets help from his partner, a cat named Spot.
The two biggest tools at Phooey’s disposal were the Phooeymobile, and The Hong Kong Book of Kung Fu,his martial-arts correspondence course instruction handbook.
Two really good actors/voice actors worked on the series.
Scatman Crothers did the voice of Hing Kong Phooey (and sung the theme song).
Joe Ross (Car 54 Where Are You) did the voice of The Sergeant Flint, “Ooh! Ooh!”.
